There are also several hiking trails, such as the path from the coast to the ruins of Agios Sofroniou. You can also hike to Itamos, the highest mountain in Sithonia, and enjoy the lush vegetation there. For the more adventurous, the mountain is even suitable for mountain climbing.

History lovers should not miss visiting the traditional settlement of Nikiti, where they will see parts and columns of the early Christian basilica of Sophrony and, of course, the elaborate mosaic on the floor. At the Historical and Folklore Museum of Nikiti you can learn about the settlement and the life of the people of Nikiti during the 19th and 20th centuries through more than 500 exhibits.

The local economy is largely based on beekeeping, a traditional activity dating back to Byzantine times. Don't forget to try the varieties of the region's famous honey.
